Peer Recovery Specialist Training
December 7 – 14, 2026 · Live on Zoom
About this training
Peer Recovery Specialists use their own experience of recovery to help other people find theirs. You are proof that it can be done.
This class gives you all 52 training hours Maryland requires for the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist credential. It starts with the five-evening CCAR Recovery Coach Academy®, then a full day of Mental Health First Aid, then self-paced modules you finish on your own time.
Finishing the training is one step. You will also need supervised practice hours before you can apply to the state. We walk you through what comes next.
- You have lived experience of mental health or substance use recovery
- You have at least 18 months in your own recovery
- You have a high school diploma or a GED

Registration runs on our secure enrollment system, so it opens in a new tab and this page stays where it is behind it. Keep it open if you want the class details in front of you while you fill the form in.
It asks for some details the state needs us to collect, so set aside a few minutes.
